In industrial production, riveting is a common fastening method, and the rotary riveting machine is important equipment for riveting. So, can different rivets be processed with the same rotary riveting machine? The answer is that it is feasible under certain conditions, but there are also some limiting factors.

The working principle of a rotary riveting machine is to apply rotating pressure to the rivet to cause plastic deformation at one end, thereby joining two or more parts together. Theoretically, as long as the machine can provide sufficient pressure, appropriate rotating speed, and adapt to the size and shape of different rivets, it can be used for various riveting tasks.

However, in practical applications, many factors must be considered. First is the size and specification of the rivet. Rivets of different specifications differ in diameter, length and other parameters. If the riveting head and fixture cannot be adjusted to suitable dimensions, accurate positioning and riveting cannot be achieved. For example, small precision rivets and large heavy-duty rivets may require different riveting heads and more precise or stronger pressure regulation systems.

Second is the material of the rivet. Rivets of different materials have different mechanical properties such as hardness and toughness. Harder rivets like stainless steel require greater pressure to deform; softer ones like aluminum may deform excessively or even be damaged by excessive pressure. Therefore, the pressure control system must be flexible enough to meet the riveting requirements of different materials.

In addition, the shape of the rivet also affects versatility. Besides common round rivets, there are special-shaped ones such as countersunk rivets and round head rivets. These may require specially designed riveting heads and processes to ensure quality and appearance.

In summary, different rivets can use the same rotary riveting machine under certain conditions, but the riveting head, fixture and pressure control system need proper adjustment and optimization according to size, material and shape. When selecting a machine, fully consider the types and specifications of rivets used in actual production, and choose equipment with good versatility and adjustability to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
